Amazing Body Scrub

Body scrubs are great to make your skin feel silky and leave it shinning! I have been making my own for awhile now, and I thought I would share it with you! The great thing about these scrubs is that you can personalize it to whatever you like! I am going to show you two of my favorite ways to 'flavor' my body scrubs but you can substitute with whatever you want!

Here's what you need!
1 Cup Sugar
3-4 TBS Salt (Corse is best)
1/4 cup Olive Oil

Cinnamon Vanilla Scrub:
1-2 TSP Vanilla
1-2 TSP Cinnamon

Essential Oil Scrub:
Any Smell you want, I am using Lavender. Just use as much or as little as you like!

First, combine your sugar and salt.
Pour in the olive oil and mix well. You might need to add more or use less, depending on your texture preference.

Now, to add the 'flavor'. This recipe is enough for two 'servings' so I took half of this mix and put it in another bowl. To this I added Vanilla and Cinnamon and long with a bit more sugar because the vanilla will make it a little runny.
This smells amazing! Just like a batch of cookies or coffee cake!
To the other half I added a few splashes of Lavender essential oil. You of course could add peppermint( just keep it away from eyes!) orange, lemon, or any other flavor you like! Have fun with it and try out new ones!

Store these in air tight containers. I keep mine in the shower because that is where I use it the most.

I made the Lavender one for my sister and the cinnamon/vanilla one for myself. These make great gifts, as well as being a simple way to pamper yourself!

I hope you enjoy this post and please share it with a friend!

Love Your Body Workout (Valentine's Addition)

Happy Valentine's Day! I hope you are sharing it with someone special. I am sharing it with several special people, my family! But, just because its Valentine's Day, doesn't mean you need to skip your workout! I mean, after all those chocolate covered strawberries and other treats, I am going to want to get cranking! This workout is simple, fun, and a great way to get your sweat on! The moves are Valentine's Themed to make it special!

Warm Up:
50 Jumping Jacks

Stretch:
The Hug ( Its simple, just give yourself a hug!)
Kiss Your Feet ( Reach as far to your feet as you can. No, you don't have to really kiss them!)
Lots of Love (Hold your arms out as far as you can. Like your going in for a big hug!)

The Workout:

20 Heart Push-ups. (Place you hands so that your fingers make a 'heart shape. Start from your knees.)
30 Heart swings. (Move your arms like you are drawing a  heart in mid-air.)
40 squats ( Just plan old squats to get those thighs in tip-top shape!)
50 sec. Heart Plank (Like the heart push-up, but just hold instead of going up and down.)
20 Kiss the Guns!( In a plank, raise one arm to your face and 'kiss' the bicep and then do they other one!)
50 sec. Happy Dance (Jog in place)

Now that wasn't so bad was it? You can repeat it as many times as you like. Remember to only do these moves if you are able, I don't want anyone getting hurt.

I hope you have a lovely Valentine's Day!

Ginger!

I have been using Ginger a lot lately in my smoothies as well as baking. I knew it was good for me, but I didn't know exactly why or how good it was for me! Here is some of the benefits of Ginger that I found interesting!

This info came from Bembu .

#1.
Ginger is know to help fight many different cancers. Research has shown that ginger can act to literally obliterate cancer's cells.
#2
IBS, or Irritable Bowel Syndrome. Ginger is known to spell relief for those suffering from IBS. Adding ginger to your diet can have a calming effect on the bowels and digestive system.
#3
Alzheimer's Disease. Research has shown that ginger helps to slow down the loss of brain cells, which typically is a precursor to Alzheimer's. By protecting the brain cells you are protecting yourself from getting Alzheimer's.
#4
Weight Loss. Ginger works as a fat burner in your body and helps to make sure that the weight you are losing is from fat. It also helps to keep you feeling full longer which will keep you from over eating.

The website mentioned earlier has a few more health facts about ginger, so if you are interested in learning more about ginger, I would suggest checking it out.

So, if ginger is so good for you, how do you add it to your diet? There are a lot of ways to do that! I have been adding a chunk of fresh ginger to my fruit smoothies and it is so delicious. It really gives the drink a festive flavor! Ginger-Lemon tea is also a really great way to get ginger in your body. Its refreshing and great for you! Cooking and baking with ginger is great too! Search around and I am sure you will find many recipes with ginger listed in the ingredient's list!

I hope this post has encouraged you to take steps to better health! If you enjoyed this post, please share it with a friend!
